In spring 2003 the composer Franck A. Holzkamp explained his idea about the opera „Das Labyrinth – Der Zauberflöte zweyter Theil“ to the freemasons in Bad Alexandersbad. This old-fashioned spelling should remember that this is a continuation of Mozart´s Magic Flute. Franck Holzkamp convinved the audience that it is time to pick up this topic again 200 years after Mozart and immense evolution processes and go forward. Spontaneously the librettist Gerd Scherm and the dramaturg Thomas H. Kaspar joined the project.

Scherm and Holzkamp are freemasons and have very consciously included their knowledge in the libretto.

Schikaneder and Mozart are said to have been freemasons, maybe also Goethe?

Composer Franck Adrian Holzkamp from Munich/Bavaria and librettist Gerd Scherm have produced another Magic Flute II with the title “The Labyrinth”, since there is another Labyrinth by von Winter/Schikaneder we title ” Z5 The Labyrinth II”.
